Jorge Enrique Vallejo Reyes was born in October 1979 in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied percussion, piano and guitar at the Academia Musical Piccolo and continued his studies in Bass Guitar at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.

In 2005 Jorge graduated from the Jazz Department in the Folkwang Hochschule Essen, Germany, with his major bass-guitar. During his Studies he also took a one year intensive seminar in “Sound Studio Technology”. Now, Jorge works as a teacher in "Jazz Electronic Media" at the Folkwang Hochschule.

Jorge took part in master classes with Courtney Pine, Héctor Martignon, Antonio Arnedo, Richie Beirach and others. Jorge has been performing in a lot of concerts, e.g. in the Open-Air-Jazz-Festival in Bogotá 1998 with the group CUARTETO and in 1999 with the group JAZZ CIRCULAR. Under the direction of Michael Gibbs, Jorge performed in the Philharmonic in Essen.
  

Jorge has a vast experience in audio technology, particularly studio productions. Jorge is the first place winner of the amateur-jazz-competition Tower Records, Bogota, with CODA and second place with the group JAZZ CIRCULAR.

With TANZMOTO he performed regulary in the dance piece “Orientation” among others in Tanzhaus NRW, Düsseldorf and Joyce Soho Theater, New York City as well as in the piece "Technologue" since its premiere in 2005.
